“Abandoned” by Urmi Plath

Poem of the Week

Abandoned

– Urmi Plath

I was walking through the night
Weeping naked with the moon
Drink from me, she rained
Let me die, my broken lips cried.

I was walking through the night
Playing with the wind’s children
Cold we are, they brushed my skin
So am I, smiled my cheeks.

I was walking through the night
Retelling the stories of the sun
The sun is sleeping, the moon said
But I am awake, teared my eyes.
Abandoned by the light.
